All the syllabi in the SPECIALIST stream are more specific in their nature. “The ISTQB® recognizes the need for vertical syllabi that provide in-depth knowledge of specific topics” said Yaron Tsubery, ISTQB® Vice-President “and this is why we decided to define a SPECIALIST stream that will group several syllabi that are undergoing development”.
The Usability Tester, the Mobile Application Tester or any other will give you the foundation knowledge on the related topic.

Advanced Level
Security Tester
The Advanced Level Security Tester qualification is aimed at people who have already achieved an advanced point in their careers in software testing and wish to develop further their expertise in security testing. The modules offered at the Advanced Level cover a wide range of testing topics.
ISTQB® Security Tester certification complements the core foundation level as a specialist module. It provides a practical and easy entry to the security approach.
Test Automation Engineer
The Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer qualification is aimed at people who have already achieved an advanced point in their careers in software testing and wish to develop further their expertise in automation testing. The modules offered at the Advanced Level cover a wide range of testing topics.
Foundation Level
Model-Based Tester Extension
Model-based testing is an innovative test approach to improve effectivity and efficiency of the test process. A model-based tester on a project uses models to drive test analysis and design, and keeps advantage of the models for other testing activities such as test implementation and reporting.
ISTQB® Model-Based Tester certification complements the core foundation level as a specialist module. It provides a practical and easy entry to the MBT approach.
